Fair and kind of balanced

In the last week, I've been called out twice in my comments section for:

A. Not recommending that new "She and Him" album fast enough

B. Trotting out my "bad teeth/bad eyes" theory again

Dear readers, I have done you a disservice and for these crimes I am sorry.

However, for the record, I recommended that "She and Him" album the frikkin' day after it hit iTunes and that "bad teeth/bad eyes" thing only came up at the end of an original piece of dialogue I wrote without any help from The Onion, YouTube or other outside sources...if you catch my drift.

So, in response, we're making some changes over here at the ol' Fascination Streak. You'll notice there on the right that the link to your blog is either under the heading "Posters" or "Posers." You don't post, then you pose. Don't like where you stand? Post something and I'll bump you back up. It'll be fun! I'm not asking for Pulitzer-winners here, just something posted more than once every few months.

I can't be sending my dear readers to sites that haven't been updated since Fred Thompson was "in the hunt" or Eli was Peyton's "under-performing brother."

It's a disservice to the countless millions who trust me as their source for all the news that shapes our world.

I hope you all understand.

Good night. And good luck.

Well, if I might venture to lodge a complaint with The System Administrator regarding his administration of his system, I will point out that I have been posting comments for weeks, nay, months....long months...in which the wind whipped around my ears and I treaded water just to stay afload and online (sometimes at the same time!)....and while I didn't mind the dearth of responses to my comments as that's just how some people are and I'd never noticed if I was listed on the roster or not (I wish I knew how people DID those rosters!!) until today (I'm not), now I'm in a position to say that this post makes me feel all bad about everything, and left out and all, having achieved neither Poster nor Poser status when I've really tried to be nice...

isn't there a category below "poser?" because that's where angie belongs.

there's a difference. i remove my blog when i won't be adding any entries. angie has a year-round blog that only gets touched every 83 days or so.

which makes her a poser.

and me, freakin' awesome.

I don't mean for it to be a popularity contest by any means. Think of it as those folks are kind of on a DL (disabled list) like they have in in baseball. They're currently "inactive." Maybe I'll change it in the spirit of the season to "starters" and "bench." We'll see.

I'm just tryin' to keep it interesting. And buttonhole, of course this all just started out with links to people I know. I never laid out a plan for what I'd do when I met people through it or started reading other people's blogs. Should I post links to those? What about corporate sites I like? What about people I just feel like I know? What about my friend's new agency that I know is gonna kick ass but is that what this is a about? Maybe. I don't know. It's mind boggling! Let me do some thinking about how I manage my little "roster" there. It'll be fun.

I guess when I started I always just figured it'd be about writin' stuff. Ya'll know what I'm talking about.

And Minus, you're in your own "unlisted" category. All VIP like. We'll see if we can't move Angie down though. Just kidding.

Howard: Of course, I was just messin' wichoo. I find the whole real life v. blog "knowing" of people interesting as well.

Minus: I mistakenly took Howard's post to be not about posting on one's own blog but about making comments on others' blogs. Which, I now realize, renders my own initial meandering comment here rather nonsensical, though not for the first nor the last time, I'm sure. In light of the spirit of what I thought he meant, then, I shall allow my irony comment to stand. :)

i would be perfectly fine having a whole category to myself. i can think of a few people who probably already have some ideas for my official title.

And, I do blog, but nobody comments, so I assume that nobody's reading. Then I get "in trouble" for not posting. Leave a damn comment, man!
