Oh, Christmas Tree!

Our tree.

We've been savoring the last couple of days in front of it before I jet home to Austin for the holiday. It's a nice one, right?

You should smell it!

Budapest - Take 1

This is a movie I cut together over the past week or so. The song, "Sonho Dourado" by Explosions in the Sky, seemed to sound like equal parts jet lag and Christmas somewhere far from home...which is kind of how the trip felt. Budapest is a lovely city but even moreso as it literally decorated itself for Christmas as we were there. Alas, the lights and all were best enjoyed at night which didn't make for very good shooting conditions. But I think it's a winner.

I've got another cut that I like to think of as adding up to the coolest work trip ever taken so look for it in the next day or so.

Oh, and the shoot went really well. The edit? Well, we'll see. So far it's been a challenge.

Guess who's an uncle!

My brother Martin and Shelli finally had their baby, Kaya Starr Hill, on Saturday down near Houston where they live. I couldn't be happier for them or more excited to meet her here in a week or so. Needless to say, this is their first as parents and therefore mine as an uncle. Uncle Howard. Still sounds a little funny.

Say hi to Kaya!

Got home Tuesday from a pretty killer time in Budapest shooting what I think will be a pretty cool little spot. Did lots of fun stuff and hope to write about and sort out pictures from this weekend. There's some decent stuff in there.

And we managed to spot the dude from Twilight, Robert Pattinson at the first class lounge in London and then flew home with him which had people all a-twitter. Here's a sneak pic I took of him back in LAX baggage claim.

Oh, and I also saw something in Heathrow that was kind of awesome. Has anyone else seen this thing in the terminal 5? It's spellbinding. And it just does that all day long.

Pics, video to come. And someone's got the holiday spirit something fierce.

Whitney and I had a lovely time with the family in Austin for thanksgiving. Got to catch the Horns demolition of A&M Thursday night but I guess it wasn't good enough to get us past Mobilehoma so we're heading to the Fiesta Bowl instead of the national Championship. Was hoping for a friendly wager with Alison and Biggy. Best of all is two teams we beat by double digits will be playing in the Big 12 championship. Awesome. That makes total sense.

Here are a couple of pics from the game, however.

Simple math.

In other news I'm off to Budapest for a week to shoot a spot. I'll be back next Tuesday. Should be some good pics from that one.

Hope everyone had a good thanksgiving.
