Everything's amazing

This has been floatin' around for a bit now but if you haven't seen it, it pretty much sums up my feelings of where we've gone wrong over the last decade or so. We have become kind of a spoiled nation of idiots. And leave it to the genius that is Louis CK to point it out.

(Clearly, I need to figure out a new format either for videos or for this blog as these new wide screen mothers aren't working out so well.)

Ok, bear with me because I know Dave Ramsey is probably not someone you'd quote, but this morning he said, "This generation has grown up in a microwave world and now we're living in a Crock-Pot world, and they better get used to it." It's kinda the same sentiment as the fellow in this clip--maybe?

I had to google Dave Ramsey if that gives you an idea! But I do think somewhere along the line we got to the point where as soon as we got a new technology we become frustrated by it. So part of me hopes we take some time to count our blessings before we get to the "eating dirt" stage that appears to be coming.

for the video thing, here's what i do (keep in mind that there may be a much easier way of getting from a to b. that's usually the case.):

look in the coded part and you'll see the pixel width and height--probably in the 300-400 number range. the width needs to be lower than what it is and then the video won't go outside of its column. for the purposes of this demonstration, let's pretend that the width needs to go down to 250. replace the current number with 250 in the code where it says width. to figure out the height so that it doesn't swash or pull the video, i go into photoshop, open any picture in the world, go to the image size menu, make sure "resample image" is clicked on, type in 250 as the pixel width and that will automatically tell you what the properly scaled height number is.

short version: most likely it needs to be downsized to 250 and the properly calculated height would be 123.
