Albums of the Year

I'm either the laziest man in the world or just a man who's rented a house in California for the week and doesn't feel like writing. Either way, with zero explanation, here's my picks for the year:

#1. LCD Soundsystem "This is Happening"

#2. Black Keys "Brothers"

#3. Kanye West "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy"

#4. Arcade Fire "The Suburbs"

#5. Best Coast "Crazy for You"

Honorable mentions:

The Walkmen "Lisbon"

The National "High Violet"

Ryan Adams "III/IV"

Mark Ronson & The Business Intl "Record Collection"

Band of Horses "Infinite Arms"

Christmas ad showdown

For the second year in a row, these Target ads were my favorite of the season. Not as funny as the ones last year but this time around they're sweet and packed with stellar tunes.

And you can download all of the music they used in all of the spots right here for no charge. Click and jam, click and jam. That Bishop Allen jam, "You'll never find my Christmas" is quite catchy as is the Natalie Hemby ""Perfect Gift." Check 'em out!
