Think different

I'm sure every company from local nail salons to mutlinational electronics manufacturers spends a little time every day thinking about the future and how their product might change to meet the demands that may come. But I don't know of any company that dreams bigger than Apple.

This is a video from 1987 of a conceptual device called the Knowledge Navigator which when you watch it is real similar to a lot of what we've been seeing over the past few years. It foresees search, chat, touchscreen technology, portability and, hell, even global warming.

The biggest thing to note here is that this is about 6 years before the actual internet interface even existed and certainly any kind of video chat was still a pipe dream. The point is they weren't just thinking about "what are we going to do next year" like every other computer company but rather simply "what can we do at some point?"

Vision over visibility.
